It’s that time of the year. To do the show-off-posts of my personal favorites of the past year.
Last years Best of 2009-posts can be seen here: Cards, Layouts, Altered items, Minibooks.
I’m gonna start with the cards – which also include the CD cards/envelopes…in no particular order, here’s my Top 10 *cough* favorites..
This was a CD-card created with Pink Paislee’s 365 degrees-collection (mostly). I like the layering, the cut-out papershapes and the use of white corrugated cardstock.
Plus, I thought I was being good at the details this time – I’m usually slacking in that department
Another CD-card I was happy about – again – lots of layering (but not in a cluttered way sort of), sewing and mix of paper die-cuts and chipboard and flowers Plus, love the colorcombo here – fresh :)
It’s a trend isn’t – the cards I’m happy about has a lot of layers – this time – a mix of paper and transparencies And yeah, another CD-card – this time with 3ndypapir and Hambly Screenprints
I think I like this one because of the bold, happy colors and um, that frog! Fancy Pants Designs here
Quite a simple card – but I like this one because of the flower-rubons I think – I’m usually sucky at using rub-ons but here I used three (and sewed around them too ) – plus for using felt-embellishments! Fancy Pants Designs here too.
Had to add this one – it’s quite simple alright but sometimes that’s enough. And once again; Fancy Pants Designs
A more layered card using Pink Paislee & Elle’s Studio-tags
Needed to add this one because it’s so simple yet pretty This one was just like, grab a sheet of paper (Fancy Pants Designs), a tag (Elle’s Studio) and stick a butterfly-diecut on the tag and some gems and some letters and voila – cute card!
My only Christmas card for 2010 – created w/Pink Paislee
I didn’t know how to chose between this and the card coming after this one, so I just added both – sorry. Love them both – especially the glimmermist-work on the card! Pink Paislee :)
A more subdued one..still Pink Paislee :)
And I quite like this card, created w/Pink Paislee’s Sweetness-collection & based on a sketch by Becky Fleck. I was sceptical about the sketch at first, but it worked out!
And yeah, I had to add this one – the recent giftcard I made for Christmas – with Pink Paislee’s old Mistletoe-collection :)
Hm ok, not really 10, but I sure hope you don’t mind. It’s so hard to play favorites, because I like the cards because of a number of different things – and I’ve learned that I actually do like to create cards, and done so more this year than I’ve ever done earlier I think.
And – just so this is said – I do not send out Christmas cards, not really, and this year the only Christmas card I sent was for my grandmother…but….I’ve received so many wonderfully cute, fun, thoughtful and lovely cards and letters this year that I notice that I’m smiling both inside and out every time I get/look at one, and I don’t know – they do make me happy, especially when it’s “only” friends (because family’s sort of supposed to do that, no? Family ones makes me happy too, it’s not that!) sending me these so I dunno. I really really want to be better at this, to send out cards and maybe make others feel like I have when I got my cards. Maybe it’ll be my resolution for the new year..?
I’ll be back with more top10-stuff soon :)
rosemary Said,
Its so lovely that I'd hate to punch holes or bind the project, if I were you. I'd just gather them all and place them into a photo box. Or maybe you can custom make a box for this project, something like your Christmas gift boxes but a little fancier...
Oh, that’s actually a great idea – gather and put the cards in a small box. They’re after all card-shaped, and it does worry me that I have to punch holes in them, holes that might ruin the look of the cards and stuff. Thank you so much, you really gave me food for thought! I’m working on more pages atm, as I didn’t get to do much while we were gone for Christmas – am on day 16 now, yay! :)
